One of the most noticeable changes is the use of black-and-white photographs instead of color images.
According to DMV officials, the monochrome photos improve identity verification.
Black-and-white images highlight facial structure and details such as shadows, lighting, and texture.
This can make it easier for people who regularly check IDs to confirm someone’s identity, including:

Gradual Rollout Across the State

By mid-April, every driver’s license service center in the state is expected to be issuing the new design.
