A shocking shooting case from Texas has led to the arrest of a 33-year-old woman after she allegedly shot her live-in boyfriend during an argument outside their home. The incident happened in Alto, a small town in East Texas, and has now become a major topic of discussion due to the serious nature of the attack.
Texas Woman Arrested After Shooting Boyfriend During Argument
According to law enforcement officials, Alanna Dawn Bilbo has been charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury involving a person she was in a relationship with. Authorities say the incident took place on Monday evening at a residence located on County Road 2813 in Alto, Texas.
Deputies from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office reached the scene around 7 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
Argument Between Couple Turned Violent
Investigators stated that Bilbo and her boyfriend were involved in a heated verbal argument related to their relationship. After being taken into custody and informed of her legal rights, Bilbo reportedly spoke with detectives about the incident.
As per the probable cause statement, the boyfriend was standing outside near the stairway of the home while Bilbo stood in the doorway. During the argument, the man allegedly shouted at her to shoot him.
Authorities claim Bilbo then fired a .22 caliber revolver directly at him, striking him between the eyes.
Second Shot Fired After Victim Turned Away
Police documents further state that after the first gunshot, the victim turned to his left and held his face in pain. Investigators allege Bilbo then fired another shot, hitting him in the back of the neck.
The shocking details have raised serious concerns among local residents and law enforcement officials.
Victim Airlifted to Hospital in Stable Condition
After the shooting, emergency responders arranged for the injured man to be airlifted to a hospital in Tyler, Texas. Sheriff Brent Dickson later confirmed that the victim was in stable condition as of Tuesday.
Initially, the case was reportedly described as an accidental shooting before investigators uncovered more details during questioning.
Drug Use Allegedly Involved
Sheriff Dickson also stated that both Bilbo and her boyfriend were allegedly under the influence of drugs at the time of the shooting. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine all circumstances connected to the incident.
Protective Order Issued Against Defendant
Bilbo is currently being held in the Cherokee County Jail with a bond set at $150,000. Court records show that a magistrate judge has issued a protective order preventing her from contacting the victim for the next three months.
The order also bans her from possessing any firearms during that period.
