Two Florida teenagers, Isabelle Valdez, 15, and Lois Lippert, 14, have been charged as adults for allegedly plotting to murder a fellow student as part of a twisted “blood ritual” aimed at resurrecting Adam Lanza, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter. The pair was arrested after their gruesome plans were uncovered, and disturbing footage has emerged showing them joking and laughing about the situation after being detained.
Teens Caught on Video Laughing After Arrest
While being transported to jail, Valdez and Lippert were caught on video making light of their arrest. According to police footage obtained by local CBS affiliate WKMG, the teens can be seen laughing and cracking jokes in the back of a cop car. They talk about doing their makeup for their mugshots and about their love for “My Little Ponies.”
At one point, Lippert is heard saying, “I did not expect … them to let us, like, go in the same car,” with Valdez responding, “So much better than just having to stare off in the distance and think of all your regrets.” Valdez is also heard saying, “Dude, I was going to do my makeup this morning for the mugshot,” and Lippert jokingly asks, “Think I’ll be able to fix my hair?”
The teens’ banter continues, with Valdez recalling a previous encounter with police, saying, “Last time they didn’t even put me in handcuffs. I was able to take some of My Little Ponies, my plush, and my phone.” Lippert responds, “I’m actually going to piss myself if I laugh anymore.”
The Disturbing Plot to Kill a Classmate
Valdez and Lippert allegedly planned to murder a fellow student at their high school in Seminole County because he reminded them of Adam Lanza. According to prosecutors, they believed killing him would “resurrect” Lanza through a “blood ritual.”
A police affidavit reveals that Valdez told investigators that the classmate “reminded her of Lanza a lot” and that she believed he was the “perfect embodiment” of Lanza. Prosecutors say the teens developed the murder plan approximately three months before the attempted homicide.
Preparation for the Murder
According to a motion for pretrial detention filed by prosecutors, Valdez and Lippert planned to lure the student into a restroom where they intended to stab him or slit his throat. The motion details how Valdez met Lippert in the restroom, showing her a bag containing Clorox wipes, a towel (to muffle the victim’s screams), and the knife they planned to use.
The plot was uncovered after another student, who was informed about the plan, came forward to authorities. This led to the arrest of the two teens, and police later found video footage of them discussing their intentions while in the back of a cop car.
Teens Express Disappointment Over Being “Snitched” On
In the recorded video, Valdez and Lippert expressed disappointment that someone had “snitched” on them, according to the motion filed by prosecutors. They were also caught discussing the items for their planned “blood ritual” and the time they could face behind bars. During the video, Valdez allegedly says, “I would be so jolly, going to jail.”
Digital Evidence and Disturbing Messages
Prosecutors also obtained digital evidence from the teens’ communications, including messages exchanged between the two girls. One message allegedly from Valdez read, “Holy s— im gonna make a blood ritual for adam lanza LMAOOOO.” In another message, Valdez is said to have written, “I hugged my parents extra tight today i feel kind bad for whats coming.”
Legal Proceedings and Charges
Valdez and Lippert have been charged as adults with attempted murder. A Seminole County judge ordered the teens to be held without bond. Their next court appearance is scheduled for April 29.
