Unsolved home invasion homicide leaves Oklahoma City family seeking answers

A mother in Oklahoma City is still seeking answers after the unsolved murder of her 18-year-old daughter, Madison Farley, who was killed during a home invasion robbery six years ago. The crime occurred in southwest Oklahoma City in April 2020.

Farley was shot in the head during a party that was interrupted by armed suspects. Authorities have said that Farley was not the intended target of the robbery.

Her mother, Bobbie Renfrow, described the emotional toll of losing her daughter:

“The world became a much quieter place now that she’s gone.”

Police released grainy surveillance footage showing four suspects entering the home and the truck they used to leave the scene. Investigators matched ballistics to a rare firearm used in the shooting, but Renfrow said the weapon was never fingerprinted, leaving another lead cold.

Renfrow expressed frustration over uncooperative witnesses and false leads:

“I’m mad, I’m disappointed. I have this rage in me. I think everybody let us down.”
“The thing is, Maddie’s whole life she always had her friends’ back… then the one time we need them, they won’t say anything.”

The victim left behind a six-year-old son, who will never know his mother personally. Renfrow said the child asks about his mother, and the family tells him she is in heaven.

Authorities continue to follow leads in the case, but progress has been slow due to false witness information. Police encourage anyone with information to submit anonymous tips online or call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300.
