The FBI was notified following the report of a $5,000 snow crab pickup scam in Edmond

A seafood business in Edmond is asking for public help after a costly theft involving hundreds of pounds of snow crab.

Edmond Seafood Company said the incident happened when suspects picked up a prepaid order worth about $5,000.

What Happened

According to the business, the suspects arrived in a truck with Texas license plates to collect a large order of snow crab. Staff were reportedly concerned because the truck was not refrigerated, but the driver claimed they were only traveling a short distance.

Shortly after the truck left, the company was contacted by a man in California who said his payment information had been used fraudulently and the charge was reversed. This left the store without both the product and the payment.

Investigation Underway

The Edmond Police Department has taken a report and is investigating the case. Authorities have also contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation in California due to the suspected fraud connection.

Business Seeks Community Help

The company shared details of the incident on social media, asking anyone with information about the suspects or the truck to come forward.
