Dean DelleChiaie, a 35-year-old Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) employee, has been charged with interstate communication of a threat to kill President Donald Trump, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ). The charges stem from a series of disturbing internet searches and a threatening email that DelleChiaie allegedly sent to the White House in April.
The Internet Searches and Investigation
The DOJ’s press release revealed that DelleChiaie conducted several internet searches on his government work computer in January, including inquiries about how to get a gun into a federal facility, previous assassination attempts against the president, and disturbing statistics about the population’s views on Trump’s death. Among these searches, DelleChiaie allegedly searched for the phrase, “I am going to kill Donald John Trump.”
These concerning actions prompted the investigation by law enforcement and the Secret Service, with assistance from the Nashua Police Department in New Hampshire. Authorities were quick to take action following these searches, culminating in DelleChiaie’s arrest.
The Threatening Email to the White House
In April, DelleChiaie allegedly sent an email to the White House in which he explicitly threatened the life of President Trump. The email reportedly read:
“I, Dean DelleChiaie, am going to neutralize/kill you – Donald John Trump – because you decided to kill kids – and say that it was War – when in reality – it is terrorism. God knows your actions and where you belong.”
The threatening language and content of the email raised alarm and prompted an immediate investigation by federal authorities. This threat, coupled with the disturbing internet searches, led to the charges against DelleChiaie.
