Brian McGann Jr. Pleads Guilty in Father’s Murder Case
Brian McGann Jr. pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of second-degree murder in connection with the February 2024 killing of his father, Brian McGann Sr.
A judge in Palm Beach County, Florida, sentenced McGann Jr. to 38 years in state prison. He also received credit for the 830 days he had already spent in jail while awaiting trial.
McGann Jr. was originally facing a first-degree murder charge but accepted a plea agreement with prosecutors, avoiding a full trial.
911 Call Triggered Police Response
According to investigators, the case began when deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office responded to a frantic 911 call about a violent domestic disturbance at a home in Lake Worth, Florida.
Authorities said a longtime family friend contacted emergency services after overhearing a disturbing phone conversation involving McGann Jr.
The witness reportedly stayed on the phone with him throughout the day and noticed he was becoming increasingly intoxicated, paranoid, and emotionally unstable.
Witness Heard Victim Begging for His Life
According to court documents, during one of the final calls, the witness allegedly heard McGann Jr. screaming aggressively at his father before a violent physical assault began.
The witness reportedly heard loud slapping sounds and then heard Brian McGann Sr. desperately saying:
“Stop, you are killing me.”
When the witness asked about his father’s condition, McGann Jr. allegedly responded:
“He is under my foot.”
The family friend immediately ended the call and dialed 911.

According to investigators, the witness described McGann Jr. as a delusional conspiracy theorist who had recently begun using cocaine.
