A recent incident in Florida involving popular rappers has grabbed attention after a fight outside a casino led to an arrest and a shooting. While the situation caused concern among fans, authorities have clarified key details about what actually happened.
Lil Tjay Arrested in Florida
Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested on April 6 in Florida. The 24-year-old rapper was booked on a charge of disorderly conduct, linked to a physical fight.
He was taken to Broward County Jail, where his bond was set at $500. After paying the amount, he was released the next day.
Incident Outside Casino Leads to Trouble
The arrest is connected to an incident that took place outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. According to police, a fight broke out in the valet area late at night.
Authorities said the situation started as an “affray,” which means a public fight involving multiple people. Lil Tjay was allegedly involved in this altercation.
Police also detained another individual at the scene, but no charges have been filed against that person so far.
Offset Injured in Same Incident
Around the same time, rapper Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was shot during the incident.
He was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition. Reports suggest that his injury is not life-threatening, and he is being closely monitored by medical staff.
Officials have not shared details about where he was injured.
Police Investigation Still Ongoing
The Seminole Police Department confirmed that only one person has been charged so far in connection with the fight. However, they are continuing their investigation to identify others who may have been involved.
Police also assured the public that the situation was quickly controlled and that there is no ongoing threat. The casino operations have continued as normal.
Lawyer Denies Shooting Involvement
Lil Tjay’s lawyer released a statement denying any involvement in the shooting.
She clarified that the rapper was not shot and has not been charged with any crime related to the shooting. She also said that rumours suggesting otherwise are false.
What Happens Next
As the investigation continues, authorities are expected to gather more evidence and possibly identify additional people involved in the incident.
For now, Lil Tjay is only facing a minor charge related to the fight, while the shooting case involving Offset remains under investigation.
