MUSTANG, Okla. – Police have arrested a suspect following a deadly shooting that happened Wednesday night in Mustang, according to local authorities.
Police Responded to Late-Night Shooting Call
Officers were called around 11 p.m. to a neighborhood near Highway 152 and Sara Road after reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency responders immediately performed life-saving measures, but the victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Believe Incident Was Domestic-Related
According to Mike Wallace, investigators believe the shooting stemmed from some type of conflict, possibly involving family members.
“Understood it to be a conflict of some sort, possibly between family members that ultimately became a, resulted in a shooting,” Wallace said.
Police stated the case appears to be domestic in nature, and officials said there is currently no ongoing threat to the public.
Suspect Located and Arrested in Del City
After interviewing witnesses, investigators learned the suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle.
Authorities later located the suspect about an hour later in Del City.
“The suspect was located a little over an hour later in Del City in the vehicle that they described,” Chief Wallace explained.
Police have not yet released the identity of the suspect or victim, and investigators have not confirmed the exact relationship between the two individuals.
Investigation Still Ongoing
Officials say the investigation remains in its early stages, and additional details have not yet been released.
Law enforcement continues gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses as they work to determine exactly what led to the deadly confrontation.
