Update: The suspect has surrendered and is now in police custody. Authorities say he was armed, but after he gave up, no further incident happened and no one was hurt.

Earlier Situation

On Sunday afternoon, police were involved in a standoff near SE 134 and Harrah Road in Oklahoma City after a man reportedly fired shots at a vehicle.

According to the Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD), the suspect shot at a vehicle and hit it with gunfire. After that, he ran into a barn and then went into a house on Iron Road where he stayed.

Officials said the man refused to come out of the house and would not surrender for a period of time Sunday evening. Police confirmed that no one else was inside the house.

Because the situation was dangerous, OKCPD set up a Police Mobile Command vehicle at the scene, and a SWAT Bearcat armored vehicle was deployed. These are used in high‑risk incidents to keep officers and the public safe.

Throughout the event, there were no reports of injuries to anyone — not to officers, bystanders, or the suspect — and the situation ended without further violence once he surrendered.

Police are continuing to gather information, and they will share more details as they become available.
