Oklahoma City police are looking for leads in a cold case involving a new mother's murder

Detectives with the Oklahoma City Police Department are asking for the public’s help as they continue investigating the unsolved 2020 killing of Madison Farley.

Young Mother Killed During Home Invasion

According to investigators, 22-year-old Madison Farley was shot and killed on April 9, 2020, during a home invasion at a house party near Southwest 43rd Street in Oklahoma City.

Detective Anthony Pundsack said Farley had recently become a mother and was spending time with friends during what investigators believe was one of her first nights out after having her child.

“It was a party full of friends, everybody knew each other,” Pundsack said. “Madison, I think this was her first time to go out after having her child.”

Four Armed Men Entered the Home

Police say four men arrived at the house in a truck before entering the home armed with a long rifle.

According to investigators:

  • Farley was sitting near the entrance when the suspects came inside
  • One of the suspects carrying the rifle shot her in the head
  • The shooting happened extremely quickly

“Right when you go inside the door, there was Madison sitting right there on the couch,” Pundsack explained.

Investigators Believe Shooting May Not Have Been Planned

Detectives say the suspects appeared to enter the home for a specific reason, but the robbery was never completed.

“It appeared to be almost like an accident,” Pundsack said. “They went there for a reason that somebody knows.”

Police believe witnesses or people connected to the case may still be withholding critical information.

Detectives Say False Information Slowed Investigation

According to investigators, the case has been complicated because multiple individuals allegedly provided false or misleading information over the years.

Pundsack said detectives have spent significant time chasing incorrect leads provided by people connected to the case.

“We’ve been led off on different trails by different involved parties,” he said.

Family Still Searching for Answers

More than four years after Farley’s death, her family continues searching for answers and justice.

Police are urging anyone with information about the case, the suspects, or the events surrounding the home invasion to contact:

  • Oklahoma City Crime Stoppers

Tips can often be submitted anonymously.
