LANAGAN, Mo. — A Missouri man has been arrested following a child abuse investigation that began after a severely injured child was taken to a hospital in Northwest Arkansas.
Authorities said the case started on April 24, when the McDonald County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Bentonville Police Department involving a child with serious burn injuries who had been transported to Mercy Hospital Rogers for emergency treatment.
Child Airlifted to Specialized Burn Unit
According to investigators, the child’s injuries were so severe that the victim had to be airlifted to a specialized burn unit in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Doctors later confirmed the child suffered:
- Third-degree burns
- Burns covering more than 40% of the body
Officials described the injuries as extremely serious.
