Michael Mikula, aged 68, has been charged after authorities found the body of his wife, Sharlene Mikula, inside their home. The couple lived in South Londonderry Township.
According to officials, Michael allegedly did not inform anyone about his wife’s death and continued living in the house with her body for over a month. The situation only came to light after family members requested a welfare check.
Discovery by Police
Police visited the home on April 14 after concerns were raised by Sharlene’s family. Initially, Michael reportedly told officers that his wife was not at home. However, once police entered and checked the house, they discovered her body.
Authorities said the body was in an advanced state of decomposition, suggesting that she had been dead for a significant period. The investigation quickly turned serious after this discovery.
