A Wisconsin man accused of killing his grandmother and fleeing the state has been taken into custody in Utah. Authorities say the suspect allegedly confessed to family members before leaving Wisconsin, leading investigators to locate and arrest him.

Wisconsin Man Accused of Killing Grandmother

Randy Jenks, 36, has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide following the death of his grandmother, 75-year-old Patricia Mae Glenn.

According to a criminal complaint, Glenn was found dead inside her home in the Town of Mount Morris, Wisconsin, on Sunday evening.

Deputies from the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home around 7:44 p.m. after Glenn’s granddaughter requested a welfare check.

When deputies arrived, they discovered Glenn lying in a pool of blood inside the house. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family Members Report Suspect’s Confession

While investigating the situation, deputies spoke with Glenn’s granddaughter, who is also the suspect’s sister.

She told authorities that Jenks had contacted family members and claimed he had stabbed their grandmother before leaving the state.

According to investigators, family members believed Jenks had traveled to Utah, where another relative lived.

The granddaughter then called their aunt’s home in Ogden, Utah, where Jenks was reportedly staying.

During the phone call, authorities say Jenks admitted to the crime, telling his sister that he stabbed their grandmother in the living room.

Suspect Reportedly Confessed to His Mother

Investigators later spoke with Jenks’ mother, who said her son had also called her and described what had happened.

According to the complaint, Jenks told his mother that he stabbed his grandmother in the neck before fleeing because he was afraid.

Family members also told authorities that Jenks had been living with his grandmother for about a year.

They said he had been struggling with mental health issues during that time.

Police Locate and Arrest Suspect in Utah

After confirming Jenks’ location in Ogden, Utah, local police were contacted.

Officers from the Ogden City Police Department went to the aunt’s home and detained Jenks without incident.

During questioning, investigators say Jenks admitted to stabbing his grandmother and claimed she had pushed him too far.

He was taken into custody and remains jailed in Utah.

Suspect Expected to Be Extradited to Wisconsin

Authorities say Jenks will be extradited to Waushara County, Wisconsin, where he will face the charge of first-degree intentional homicide.

As of now, a court date has not been scheduled.

The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding Glenn’s death.
