Co-hosts of the popular TV show The View clashed during Tuesday’s episode while discussing President Donald Trump’s new prescription drug pricing initiative, TrumpRx.
The debate centered around whether the program could genuinely help Americans struggling with medication costs or whether Trump’s involvement made the effort questionable.
The new platform, TrumpRx.gov, was introduced at a White House event alongside billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban, who has previously been one of Trump’s harshest critics.
The initiative aims to reduce prices on around 600 generic prescription drugs through partnerships with private companies, including:

The partnership surprised many viewers because Cuban and Trump have publicly criticized each other for years.
During the discussion, co-host Joy Behar strongly criticized the project and mocked Trump’s branding history.
She argued that many businesses previously connected to Trump had failed, including Trump Shuttle, Trump Vodka, Trump University, and his casinos. Behar jokingly claimed that putting Trump’s name on prescription drugs was dangerous.
However, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin defended the initiative, saying the drugs themselves are existing medications and that lowering healthcare costs should matter more than politics.
Griffin revealed that a medication she used during IVF treatment was reportedly available at a much lower price through the program.
She argued that many Americans are struggling financially because of healthcare expenses, saying people should not reject lower drug prices simply because Trump is involved.
Co-host Sunny Hostin questioned Trump’s motives, pointing to comments he made during the launch event where he joked about helping people “stay wealthy.”
Hostin suggested that Trump’s business interests may play a role in the initiative.
Meanwhile, Sara Haines said that if the program successfully lowers costs for ordinary Americans, many people may not care what it is called.
The discussion became heated as the hosts interrupted one another during the debate.
At one point, Hostin shouted at Griffin and Haines, calling them “naïve” for trusting the initiative.
Moderator Whoopi Goldberg attempted to calm the argument and took a more balanced position.
Goldberg told viewers they should judge the program based on whether it actually works for them financially.
Following the broadcast, White House spokesperson Kush Desai responded to Behar’s criticism with a blunt statement to reporters, calling her “an idiot.”
