A woman in Texas has been arrested after police said she suddenly attacked a Planet Fitness employee during a gym tour in Houston. Authorities claim the assault happened without warning inside a restricted premium section of the gym, leaving the employee injured and afraid to return to work.
Investigators later used surveillance footage, witness information, and the suspect’s gym account to identify the woman involved.

Employee Was Giving Gym Tour Before Attack
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at a Planet Fitness location on Tomball Parkway in Houston.
Police said the victim was an employee who had been showing Carcamo around the gym after the woman requested a tour.
Court documents state that the employee guided the suspect through different areas of the facility, including the “Black Card” section, which contains premium features such as massage equipment and specialised machines.
At first, nothing appeared unusual.
Investigators said surveillance footage showed the woman walking around the gym, carrying weights, using equipment, and moving normally throughout the building.
Attack Allegedly Happened Without Warning
Authorities say the situation suddenly changed during the tour of the Black Card area.
According to the criminal complaint, the employee was pointing out equipment and explaining features when Carcamo allegedly grabbed her hair from behind and violently pulled her to the ground.
Police reports claim the suspect then:
- Held the victim by her hair
- Forced her onto the floor
- Punched her around eight times
- Continued the attack while the victim tried to defend herself
Investigators stated the employee attempted to kick away from the attacker before the assault finally stopped.
Suspect Allegedly ‘Shushed’ Victim After Assault
One of the strangest details in the case involves what allegedly happened immediately after the attack.
According to court documents, Carcamo picked something up from the floor and then placed her finger over her mouth in a “shushing” gesture toward the injured employee.
The complaint states both women then walked out through the gym’s glass doors.
Police later said the victim identified the suspect through her Planet Fitness account information.
Victim Reported Dizziness and Fear
After deputies arrived, the employee told officers she was suffering from serious discomfort after being punched repeatedly.
According to investigators, she reported:
- Throbbing pain in her head
- Dizziness
- Fear about returning to work
The victim reportedly told deputies she was frightened because the suspect both lived nearby and worked at a Subway restaurant located in the same shopping centre.
Police Used Surveillance and Witnesses to Identify Suspect
Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from inside the gym and gathered information from employees at the nearby Subway restaurant.
Authorities confirmed Carcamo worked there and later included detailed descriptions from the video footage in the criminal complaint.
Earlier this month, detectives showed the victim a six-person photo lineup. Police said she immediately identified Carcamo as the woman who attacked her “out of nowhere for no reason.”
Suspect Made Strange Statements to Detectives
During a noncustodial interview with investigators, Carcamo reportedly struggled to explain why the incident happened.
According to the complaint, she allegedly said:
- She “felt attacked and harassed”
- She did not know how to explain what happened
- She felt “off”
- She kept getting into trouble for similar reasons
Police also stated that Carcamo later made more concerning comments during questioning.
According to detectives, she allegedly said:
- “I felt I had to do something to her”
- “I got her”
When officers asked her to explain those comments further, investigators said she refused or could not clarify what she meant.
Arrest and Low Bond Spark Attention
Authorities arrested Carcamo last week on a charge of assault causing bodily injury.
Court records show prosecutors requested a $5,000 bond. However, the suspect was reportedly released after posting only a $100 bond.
The low bond amount has attracted attention online, especially because the victim said she fears returning to work.
Carcamo is expected to appear in court on Friday as the case continues.
Violence in Public Businesses Raises Safety Concerns
Incidents involving sudden violence inside public businesses often leave employees emotionally shaken long after physical injuries heal. Workplace assaults can also create fear among workers who regularly interact with strangers during customer service duties.
This Houston case has drawn additional attention because investigators say there was no clear argument or warning before the attack happened. Police continue reviewing evidence, including surveillance footage and witness statements, as prosecutors move forward with the case.
