A tragic shooting outside a Georgia bar has left a young security guard dead after he stepped in to break up a fight. Authorities say the guard was trying to stop an argument between a man and a woman when the situation suddenly turned violent. Security Guard Fatally Shot Outside Georgia Bar
Police in Acworth, Georgia, responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 2:40 a.m. outside a bar called Saddlebar. The establishment is located at 5160 Cowan Road, about 30 miles northwest of Atlanta.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found 28-year-old Jordan Alexander Jones suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency responders quickly transported Jones to a nearby hospital, but he later died from his injuries.
Authorities say the shooting happened shortly after the bar had closed for the night.
Suspect Arrested and Charged With Felony Murder
Police arrested 25-year-old Daniel Di Vonne Parsons in connection with the shooting.
According to investigators, officers found Parsons walking near the area shortly after the incident.
He was taken into custody and is now facing several charges, including:
- Felony murder
- Aggravated assault
- Aggravated battery
Parsons is currently being held in the Cobb County Jail without bond.

Jordan Jones was well known in his community.
He graduated from Mountain View High School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, where he was an athlete on the football team.
After attending the University of West Alabama, he returned to his former high school to help coach football and work as a substitute teacher.
The school shared a tribute on social media, describing him as a strong leader and role model for students.
Friends and former teammates also spoke about his character.
One of his former teammates, Dijon Joseph, said Jones was known for bringing people together and supporting those around him.
He described Jones as a “big brother figure” who always looked out for others.
Investigation Continues
Authorities continue to investigate the shooting and the events that led up to it.
Police have not released additional details about the confrontation between Parsons and the woman.
