A tragic incident in California has left a family and community in deep grief after a domestic violence suspect allegedly caused a deadly crash while trying to escape from police. The हादसा took three lives, including that of an unborn baby, just weeks before he was due to be born.
What Happened in the Incident
According to police in Pomona, the incident took place around 9:30 p.m. when officers responded to a domestic violence call on East 10th Street. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Marshall Judson, was already involved in the case.
While police were speaking to the victim at the scene, Judson reportedly returned in his truck. Authorities say he was driving dangerously and even rammed a police vehicle before fleeing.
High-Speed Chase Turns Deadly
After hitting the patrol car, Judson sped away, leading police on a chase along Garey Avenue. During the chase, he crashed into another vehicle — a Ford Fusion — carrying a young couple.
The victims, 25-year-old Jennifer Loera-Zarco and 26-year-old Marc Anthony Trejo Saldivar, were pronounced dead at the scene. Tragically, their unborn baby also did not survive the crash.
Family members revealed that Loera-Zarco was around eight and a half months pregnant and was just weeks away from giving birth to a baby boy.
Victims Remembered by Loved Ones
The loss has deeply affected the victims’ families, who described the couple as loving and full of life. They were excited to start a new chapter and welcome their child into the world.
A family member shared that Marc Anthony was kind and genuine, while Jennifer was known for her warmth and caring nature. Together, they were building a happy future.
Family Demands Recognition for Unborn Child
During an emotional vigil held in memory of the victims, Loera-Zarco’s sister spoke about the importance of recognising the unborn baby as a life lost.
She expressed that it should not be seen as just two deaths, but three, as the baby was close to being born and already part of the family.
Arrest and Charges Against Suspect
Police arrested Marshall Judson at the scene. During the investigation, officers reportedly found a firearm and other weapon-related items in his possession. Authorities also confirmed that he did not have a valid driving licence.
Judson is now facing three counts of murder — one for each life lost in the crash.
Current Legal Status
The suspect is currently being held in Los Angeles County Jail without bond. He is expected to appear in court soon as the legal process begins.
The case has raised serious concerns about the dangers of high-speed police chases and how domestic violence situations can quickly turn deadly.
