A shocking case of child abuse has come to light in Houston, Texas. A woman has been arrested, and her girlfriend is on the run after authorities alleged extreme harm to two young children and an attempted cover-up.
Texas Woman Arrested, Girlfriend Wanted
Jamesha Wilson, 30, has been charged with four counts of injury to a child by omission and five counts of intentionally injuring a child, according to legal documents obtained by Law&Crime. Her girlfriend, Kevonnisha Jones, also 30, is facing similar charges, and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.
The allegations involve a 2-year-old and a 3-year-old, with authorities reporting severe injuries to both children.
The Incident at the Apartment
On September 9, 2025, an ambulance was called to an apartment complex on Barberry Drive in Houston’s Sunnyside area. Jones reportedly told a paramedic that she woke up to a strange noise and found one of the children on the unfinished floor, suspecting the child had fallen but not witnessing it directly.
Paramedics quickly realized the child had suffered a serious head injury. The 3-year-old was rushed to a hospital, where doctors found an extensive brain bleed, broken bones, and marks from a belt buckle on her neck, torso, and thighs. Due to the nature of these injuries, hospital staff suspected abuse and contacted the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigation and Cover-Up Allegations
During the investigation, deputies spoke with Wilson, the mother, and Jones, her girlfriend. Wilson admitted she had left the children with Jones while she went to work and said she only knew what Jones had told her about the incident. She could not explain how her 3-year-old sustained the injuries, insisting the children were fine before she left that morning.
Jones allegedly claimed that the 3-year-old fell from a bed. Investigators later discovered that the women were in contact through calls and text messages to coordinate what to tell authorities. Messages reportedly showed Wilson guiding Jones on what to say about their activities, whereabouts, and who had been caring for the children.
Doctors later examined the 2-year-old and found multiple bruises, abrasions, fractures, and signs of possible liver injury. Some fractures were in different stages of healing, suggesting prolonged abuse.
Court Appearance and Bond
After months of investigation, Wilson was arrested earlier this week. She appeared in court with her head down, facing serious allegations. The judge noted that one child was on life support with a brain bleed and had undergone part of her skull being removed.
Wilson is currently in Harris County Jail with a $200,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court again on July 2. Meanwhile, Jones remains at large.
This case highlights the extreme dangers of child abuse and the importance of vigilance from both caregivers and authorities to protect vulnerable children.
