A key witness in the congressional investigation into the Jeffrey Epstein case has testified that he was not aware of any financial payments from Epstein to President Donald Trump or members of Trump’s family. The testimony came during a closed-door deposition before the House Oversight Committee as lawmakers continue reviewing how federal authorities handled Epstein’s crimes.
Epstein’s Former Accountant Testifies Before House Committee
Richard Kahn, who served as Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime accountant and is now one of the executors of his estate, recently testified before the House Oversight Committee.
The deposition was conducted behind closed doors as part of an ongoing congressional investigation into Epstein’s financial activities and the government’s handling of his criminal case.
According to Committee Chairman James Comer, Kahn said under oath that he had never seen any financial transactions between Epstein and President Donald Trump or members of Trump’s family.
Comer told reporters that Democratic lawmakers raised the question during the deposition, prompting Kahn to address the issue directly.
Committee Chair Says Witness Saw No Trump Payments
Chairman Comer explained that Kahn’s testimony adds to statements made by other witnesses in the investigation.
According to Comer, Kahn is the fifth witness to testify under oath that they were not aware of any financial dealings involving Trump and Epstein.
Kahn reportedly stated that he had never seen records of payments made to Trump or anyone in his family during his time handling Epstein’s financial matters.
Testimony Reveals Individuals Who Paid Epstein
While discussing Epstein’s financial activities, Kahn reportedly identified several individuals who transferred large sums of money to the financier.
According to Comer, the individuals included:
- Former Victoria’s Secret CEO Les Wexner
- Hedge fund manager Glenn Dubin
- Businessman Steven Sinofsky
- Members of the Rothschild family
- Investor Leon Black
Kahn said he believed Epstein earned much of his wealth by working as a financial adviser, tax planner, and money manager for wealthy clients.
Disagreement Over Settlement Claim
During the deposition, a Democratic lawmaker gave a different interpretation of part of Kahn’s testimony.
Representative Suhas Subramanyam said Kahn mentioned that a person who accused Donald Trump had received a settlement payment from Epstein’s estate.
However, sources familiar with the deposition later clarified that the claim may have been misunderstood.
According to a person familiar with the testimony, Kahn’s attorneys later corrected the record and explained that the individual mentioned was not someone they recognized or had previously heard of.
Trump’s Past Relationship With Epstein
President Donald Trump was known to have been socially acquainted with Jeffrey Epstein many years ago.
However, the two reportedly had a falling out before Epstein’s first federal criminal investigation.
Trump has not been accused or charged with any wrongdoing related to Epstein’s criminal activities.
Additional Claims Raised During Testimony
Subramanyam also told reporters that Kahn referenced another head of state who may have had financial transactions with Epstein.
The lawmaker did not provide further details or identify the individual involved.
Investigators are continuing to review testimony and financial records as part of the broader inquiry.
Ongoing Congressional Investigation
The House Oversight Committee has been interviewing several witnesses connected to Epstein as lawmakers examine how federal agencies handled the case.
The investigation also seeks to understand Epstein’s financial network and his relationships with wealthy individuals and public figures.
