Man Accused of Double Murder in Texas
Stanley Earl Hardin, a 57-year-old man, has been arrested and charged with two counts of capital murder. According to officials from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, he is accused of killing his estranged wife, Tara Hardin (50), and her mother, Floris Wolford (80).
The incident happened in Conroe, a city located about 40 miles from Houston. Police confirmed that both victims died at the scene.
Incident Began with a Distress Call
The situation started around 2 p.m. when Tara Hardin called 911. She told emergency services that her husband had crashed his truck into the house where she was staying and was trying to enter.
This call gave police an early warning about the dangerous situation. Unfortunately, things escalated very quickly after that.
Truck Crash and Shooting Inside the House
Authorities say Hardin drove his black pickup truck straight into the front of the house. The vehicle damaged the outer wall, insulation, and a large window before stopping inside the structure.

Suspect Fled and Later Surrendered
After the shooting, Hardin left the scene on foot and went to his son’s house. He asked his son to drive him to his own home, which was about 5 miles away.
Later, he surrendered to the police at a house on Ivy Lane. Officers had already set up a security perimeter and even involved a SWAT team, as they feared he might be armed and dangerous. However, he surrendered peacefully without further violence.
