A horrifying murder investigation in Arizona has led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man after police allegedly discovered dismembered human remains inside his apartment.
Investigators say the suspect now faces first-degree murder and kidnapping charges after evidence at the scene pointed to a violent killing followed by an apparent attempt to destroy evidence. The disturbing case has shocked the local community as authorities continue working to identify the victim and uncover the full sequence of events.
Arizona Man Arrested in Grisly Murder Investigation
32-year-old Christopher Michael Ebanks has been arrested in connection with a brutal homicide investigation in Phoenix.
According to investigators, Ebanks has been charged with:
- First-degree murder
- Kidnapping
Police say the arrest came after officers received a report of a possible homicide on the night of May 7.
Family Member’s Call Led Police to Apartment
Authorities say the investigation began after a man identified as Jeffery Majalca contacted police after receiving alarming information from his daughter, Selena Blanco.
According to police documents, Blanco reportedly told her father that her boyfriend had been killed and that his body was being hidden inside an apartment.
Her father immediately alerted law enforcement, triggering an emergency response.
Police Found Signs of Cleanup
When officers arrived at the apartment, investigators say they noticed a strong smell of bleach and cleaning chemicals.
Police also reportedly found:
- Wet floors
- Cleaning supplies
- Blood evidence
- Signs of attempted cleanup throughout the residence
These discoveries led homicide detectives to begin a full crime scene investigation.
Human Remains Found Inside Apartment
During the search, investigators say they discovered the remains of an unidentified male victim.
According to court documents, the body had allegedly been dismembered, with the head and hands missing.
Authorities say the remains were wrapped in carpeting and an air mattress, then tied with an extension cord.
Police later executed an additional search warrant and reportedly found a suitcase containing human remains inside the apartment.
Witness Describes Violent Argument
According to investigators, Selena Blanco told police that she, her boyfriend, and Ebanks—whom she allegedly knew by the nickname “Draco”—met on May 6 to discuss financial help involving rent money.
She told detectives that an argument broke out and escalated into violence. Blanco reportedly claimed Ebanks repeatedly stabbed her boyfriend with a knife.
Kidnapping Allegations Added
Blanco also told police that after the killing, Ebanks allegedly forced her to drive him to his apartment in Glendale.
She claimed he threatened her with both a knife and a gun and forced her to shower in an alleged attempt to destroy evidence before making her help clean the scene.
These allegations led investigators to add kidnapping charges.
Suspect Located Through Surveillance and Records
Police say surveillance footage, phone data, and information from Ebanks’ prior criminal history helped investigators locate him on May 8.
Authorities say Ebanks refused to speak with detectives after his arrest.
He is currently being held on a $1 million cash bond and is scheduled to return to court on May 14.
