A perverted high school teacher was arrested for allegedly groping seven special needs students at a Queens high school, but was later released by a judge, according to authorities.
Vamshi Guduru allegedly touched the girls, aged 15 to 17, on their buttocks and breasts at John Bowne High School in Kew Gardens Hills, officials said.
The alleged abuse occurred between Monday and Wednesday, according to a criminal complaint filed against him.
According to the complaint, one of the girls reported that the 36-year-old teacher “caressed her right breast without her consent.”
According to the complaint, two of the other girls stated that he “squeezed” their buttocks without their consent. According to officials, two others reported that he touched or squeezed their breasts.
Another girl claimed Guduru stood very close to her and placed his hand over hers. The seventh girl claimed he touched her lower back.
The incidents were reported to police on Thursday, and the 36-year-old was arrested by NYPD Warrant Section detectives at his home early Friday morning, according to sources.
Guduru was charged with four counts of forcible touching and five counts each of endangering a child’s welfare and sexual abuse, police said.
He was arraigned before Judge Sharifa Nasser-Cuellar and was granted supervised release. There are orders of protection issued against him for the victims.
A Queens DA spokesperson confirmed that prosecutors had requested bail.
Imran Ansari, Guduru’s defense attorney, said in a statement that “the allegations remain allegations, and we have yet to see the prosecution’s evidence.”
His next court date is May 4.
The NYPD released his mugshot in the hopes that more victims would come forward. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
