A Minnesota woman was seriously injured after being shot in the neck following a minor fender bender, authorities say. The incident left her and her 5-year-old child traumatized.
Cordaryle Frank-Allen Frost, 38, is in custody at the Anoka County Jail on charges of first-degree assault causing great bodily harm and drive-by shooting with a dangerous weapon.
His wife, Cynthia Victoria Frost, 37, was also arrested but has since been released.
What Happened
The mother and her daughter were leaving a friend’s prom send-off party in Columbia Heights, just north of Minneapolis, when their SUV appeared to lightly hit a parked vehicle.
Seconds later, the Frosts got into their own vehicle and followed the mother. About a block away, the mother said the Frosts forced her to pull over using a maneuver similar to a PIT maneuver. The suspects reportedly got out, yelled threats, and demanded to “beat her.”
The Shooting
The mother drove away, but the Frosts caught up. She was suddenly shot in the neck, causing her to lose control of her SUV. The vehicle crossed the road and stopped in a grassy area near 53rd Avenue Northeast and University Avenue Northeast in Fridley, Minnesota.
Her 5-year-old daughter escaped the SUV and ran for help. The mother suffered a spinal cord injury and underwent surgery to remove bullet fragments from her neck. The extent of her injuries has not been fully released.
Arrest and Charges
The Frosts were arrested on Monday. Cordaryle Frost allegedly denied involvement in the shooting. His wife, Cynthia Frost, faced the same charges but was released from jail on Wednesday.
Cordaryle Frost remains in jail with $2 million bail.
