A Florida man, Tyler Vidro, has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly shooting a FedEx driver during a road rage incident. The victim, Nathaniel Padgett, was shot on April 16 in Riviera Beach.
Police say the situation began as a simple road conflict but quickly escalated into a deadly confrontation.
Victim Found in Critical Condition
After the shooting, Padgett’s girlfriend called emergency services and reported that he had been shot. When police arrived, they found him seriously injured with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was immediately taken to the hospital, but sadly, he could not survive his injuries.
Accused Claims Self-Defense
Following the incident, Vidro contacted the police himself. He reportedly said that he used his gun because he feared for his life. He also mentioned that a lawyer advised him to report the incident.
However, investigators are closely examining whether his claim of self-defense is valid.
Argument Began on the Road
According to reports, Padgett and his girlfriend were in a delivery truck when Vidro pulled up next to them. Witnesses said he tried to provoke them by making gestures and starting an argument.
The situation did not end there, as Vidro allegedly continued to follow them.
Confrontation at Workplace
When Padgett reached a FedEx facility to park the truck and switch vehicles, Vidro reportedly followed him there. Police say he had no valid reason to be on the private property.
Surveillance footage suggests that Padgett tried to avoid conflict and leave the area. However, Vidro continued to pursue him.
Final Moments Before Shooting
Police reports say Padgett picked up a concrete block from the ground and told Vidro that he had not hit his car. However, authorities stated there is no clear evidence that Padgett used the block in a threatening way.
Soon after, gunshots were heard.
Serious Charges Filed
Authorities believe Vidro’s actions were not random but involved intentional behaviour. He has been charged with:

- Stalking
