A coroner’s report has shed new light on the tragic circumstances surrounding the death of Norman Lee, a 90-year-old retired mechanical engineer from New Zealand.
Norman died at Christchurch Hospital on July 9, 2020, after suffering from pneumonia, severe cardiovascular disease, frailty, and dementia.
Years after his death, authorities have released findings that reveal the shocking conditions in which he spent the final months of his life.
Son Jailed for Abuse and Neglect
Norman’s son, David Lee, was sentenced to six years in prison in 2022 after being convicted of multiple offences related to his father’s treatment.
Another individual, whose identity remains protected under interim name suppression laws, was also convicted and sentenced to two years and seven months in prison.
