A heartbreaking vacation tragedy involving a woman from New York has taken a major turn after Jamaican police located and detained her husband, who had been named a person of interest in her death. Jamaican authorities have taken Dane Watson into custody in connection with the death of his wife, Melissa Kerry Samnath.

Anthony Wallace, commanding officer for the St. Mary police division, said authorities received information that Watson wanted to surrender but feared for his safety.
Police then arranged for him to be safely escorted to a local station, where he was formally handed over without incident.
