A Utah man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after his wife accused him of a brutal domestic assault in which he allegedly choked her, twisted her neck, and repeatedly tried to kill her inside their home.
Utah Man Charged With Attempted Murder in Domestic Violence Case
Aaron Ray Thomas, 37, is facing multiple serious felony charges after authorities say he allegedly attacked his wife inside their home in Grantsville.
The incident happened on May 7 and led to Thomas being taken into custody by local police.
According to investigators, the case involves allegations of attempted murder, kidnapping, and reckless endangerment.
Victim Called 911 During Alleged Attack
Police say Thomas’ wife called emergency services during the alleged assault, desperately asking for help.
According to investigators, the woman told dispatchers her husband was:
- Choking her
- Trying to snap her neck
- Attempting to kill her
Authorities said the emergency call captured the woman screaming and begging for help as the attack allegedly unfolded.
Victim Says Husband Asked, ‘Why Won’t You Die?’
When officers arrived at the scene, police say the woman told them Thomas had violently twisted her head and neck during the attack.
Investigators also said Thomas allegedly made disturbing statements during the assault, including:
- “I hope you die”
- “Why won’t you die?”
Police say the victim told officers she genuinely believed her husband was trying to kill her.

Authorities say this was not the first time Thomas had faced allegations involving domestic violence.
