GEARY COUNTY, Kan. — A Junction City woman has died, and a Weatherford, Oklahoma man is hospitalized following a motorcycle crash on Old Highway 40 near Kansas Falls Road on Sunday evening, May 7, 2026.
Details of the Crash
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), the crash occurred around 7:20 p.m. when a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle failed to navigate a curve.
The motorcycle, which was traveling west on Old Highway 40, lost control, ejecting both the driver and the 38-year-old passenger from the bike.
The KHP identified the victim as Amanda Conrad, a Junction City resident, who was a passenger on the motorcycle. Unfortunately, Conrad was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 49-year-old man from Weatherford, Oklahoma, was taken to a Junction City hospital for treatment.
His current condition has not been released. Both Conrad and the driver were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash, according to the KHP’s crash log.
