A disturbing neglect case in Indiana has led to the arrest of two caregivers after police say an autistic man was found living in horrific conditions inside a filthy home.
Authorities allege the victim had severe untreated wounds, signs of malnutrition, and blankets stuck to injuries on his feet when officers entered the residence. The case has shocked the local community and raised serious concerns about vulnerable adult care.
Indiana Man and Woman Arrested in Neglect Investigation
Police in Evansville arrested:
- Tamara Eaton, 47
- Michael Tinsley, 39
According to court records, both suspects have been charged with:
- Neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury
- Obstruction of justice
Tinsley also faces an additional drug-related charge involving marijuana possession.
Victim Was Michael Tinsley’s Brother
Investigators say the victim is Michael Tinsley’s brother, an adult man with autism.
Authorities say the victim had recently lost his mother, who had previously cared for him.
After her death, police say Eaton and Tinsley became responsible for his daily care.

Sister’s Call First Alerted Authorities
