A major manhunt is underway in Germany for a 91-year-old blind woman, Ursula Obigt, who has been left stranded in a forest after her husband, who suffers from dementia, wandered off and forgot where he left her.
The Berlin police are leading the search operation to find Ursula, who cannot walk, is nearly blind, and also suffers from dementia.
The Incident
Ursula was last seen traveling with her husband in their grey MG ZS SUV two days ago when they got lost in an unknown forest. The couple had been on a drive, and after becoming disoriented, the husband left the car to seek help. Tragically, he left his wife behind in the vehicle.
Ursula’s husband, unable to remember the location where he left her, was found wandering alone near Kremmen, approximately 250 kilometers away from where they were last seen.
He was helpless and unable to recall where the car was or which forest they had been in. The authorities were able to trace the car, which had been seen driving through a toll tunnel in Lübeck earlier on Tuesday.
Search and Rescue Operation
The police have initiated a huge search operation to locate Ursula, with Brandenburg police deploying a helicopter to help find her. Despite the extensive search efforts, there has been no success in locating her so far.
The authorities are focusing their search in the wooded areas around Kremmen, Amalienfelde, Orion, and Staffelde, as these are areas Ursula’s husband mentioned during his interview.

Ursula Obigt is described as a 5ft2 woman with a stocky build and grey hair. Unfortunately, no further details about her clothing could be released to the public, making the search even more difficult.
