The incident took place in Panorama City, where a 5-year-old boy named Elyjah Hearn was found inside a dumpster. His body was wrapped in a fleece blanket and discovered in a commercial area along Van Nuys Boulevard in July 2025.

Accused Identified by Police
Police identified Malik Brycson Gaddis, the boyfriend of the boy’s mother, as the main accused in the case. He was arrested and charged with murder and assault on a child causing death.
