A man identified as Scott Ivey has been arrested in Grayson County after being accused of stealing diesel fuel and trespassing on private property. The case was reported by the Southmayd Police Department.
Incident Begins on Private Property
According to police, the incident started on Sunday evening when officers received a report about a man driving a pickup truck on private land without permission. The property owner also claimed that the suspect had stolen diesel fuel from the location.

High-Speed Chase Reaches Dangerous Levels
Police said the property owner began chasing the suspect, leading to a high-speed pursuit. During the chase, speeds reportedly reached up to 90 miles per hour, creating a serious risk for others on the road.
While trying to escape, Ivey lost control of his vehicle. His pickup truck went into a ditch and struck a highway pole along State Highway 289. Despite the crash, he managed to continue driving and fled the scene.

Authorities later caught up with Ivey near the intersection of FM 1417 and US 82. Deputies from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office were able to stop him and take him into custody without further incident.
