A disturbing incident in Florida has left several people injured after a woman allegedly opened fire outside a restaurant. The situation quickly turned violent, shocking witnesses and raising concerns about public safety and reckless behaviour.
Woman Arrested After Shooting Outside Restaurant
Samantha Morales, 34, has been arrested after police accused her of shooting at a group of women. The incident happened on April 17 outside a restaurant in Homestead, Florida.
During a court hearing, a judge ordered that Morales remain in custody without bail. She is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Incident Began as a Verbal Exchange
According to police reports, three women were standing outside the restaurant, saying goodbye to each other, when Morales approached them in her black Tesla.
She reportedly asked the group, “You all good?” One of the women replied politely, saying everything was fine and asked Morales the same question.
However, the situation quickly became tense. Morales allegedly responded with an aggressive remark and continued confronting the group.
Situation Escalated Quickly
Witnesses told police that Morales stepped out of her car and challenged the women, asking what they would do about the situation. As the argument grew, one witness warned the group that Morales had a gun.
Moments later, police say Morales fired two shots, hitting two of the women. Panic spread as people nearby tried to understand what was happening.
Physical Fight Followed the Shooting
After the shots were fired, one of the women reportedly tried to stop Morales by lunging at her and attempting to take the gun away. A physical fight broke out between them.
The chaos ended when police arrived at the scene and separated everyone involved.
Accused Claims Memory Loss
After being arrested, Morales told police she did not clearly remember the incident. She claimed she was “fighting for her life” during the confrontation.
Police also reported that she admitted to consuming three alcoholic drinks before the shooting, which may have influenced her behaviour.
Serious Charges Filed Against Morales
Morales is now facing multiple serious charges, including:
- Two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon
- Three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm
- One count related to firearm use
- Two additional misdemeanor charges
She is scheduled to appear in court again soon, with her arraignment set for May 18.
Victims in Stable Condition
Reports confirm that the two women who were shot are currently in stable condition. While they are expected to recover, the incident has left a lasting impact on them and others who witnessed the violence.
