A serious controversy has emerged in Texas after a city mayor was arrested over allegations of assault and inappropriate behaviour towards a staff member. The case has gained attention due to the nature of the accusations and the involvement of a public official.
Arrest of Texas Mayor
Matthew Dantzer, the mayor of Magnolia, Texas, has been arrested on felony assault charges. According to reports, he is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail and is expected to appear before a judge soon.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers, are involved in the investigation. Officials have not shared full details publicly yet, as the case is still ongoing.
Dantzer’s lawyer has denied all the allegations, stating that he is innocent and will defend himself through the legal process.
Allegations by City Staffer
The case is based on a complaint filed by a city employee, identified as Gable. She has also filed a federal civil lawsuit against the City of Montgomery.
In her complaint, she claimed that the mayor had been making inappropriate comments for years, and the situation became more serious during a work trip in October 2025.
At that time, she was five months pregnant.
Incident During Work Trip
According to the complaint, the incident happened during a work trip to a conference in Fort Worth. After dinner, Dantzer offered to walk Gable back to her hotel, saying it would only take a few minutes.
During the walk, he allegedly started making sexual comments about her clothing. The complaint says he made inappropriate remarks about her pants and even tried to pull them down.
These actions made Gable feel unsafe and uncomfortable.
Alleged Physical Assault
The situation reportedly became violent near the hotel. The complaint states that Dantzer suddenly grabbed Gable by the throat and pushed her against a structure.
He allegedly made further inappropriate comments during the assault.
Gable said she managed to push him away and quickly ran into her hotel room to escape.
Complaint and Workplace Issues
The next day, Gable reported the incident to colleagues and was advised to file a formal complaint, which she did.
However, she claims that after reporting the incident, her work environment became even more difficult. According to her:
- The mayor was not placed on leave
- No safety measures were taken
- She had to continue working near him
She also alleged that the mayor later came into her office and behaved in an intimidating manner.
Maternity Leave and Further Concerns
After going on maternity leave in February, Gable requested to work remotely until the end of Dantzer’s term.
While she was initially allowed some remote work, she was later asked to return to the office, where she would again be near him.
This added to her concerns about safety and workplace conditions.
Legal Process Ongoing
The case is now moving through the legal system. Dantzer continues to deny all accusations and has stated that he is committed to serving the public.
Authorities are expected to investigate the claims thoroughly before any final conclusions are reached.
