Family dispute turns violent
The incident happened on April 2 in Puyallup. Police were called to a home around 9:10 a.m. after receiving reports of a family argument.
According to officials, the dispute started inside the house but quickly moved outside onto the street. The situation escalated rapidly and became violent.
Shooting leaves one dead, one critical
Police said an adult male family member, armed with a handgun, shot two female relatives during the conflict.
The victims were found in a neighbour’s driveway and garage area. One woman died at the scene, while the other was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Neighbor intervenes
As the incident moved onto their property, a neighbour who was inside the house came out after hearing the commotion.
Seeing the situation, the neighbour intervened and shot the armed man, stopping the attack. The suspect died after being shot.
Police have not released the neighbour’s identity, and it is unclear if any charges will be filed, as investigations are still ongoing.
Victim identified by family
Although police have not officially released names, family members identified the woman who died as Christiannel Maningat, a 23-year-old.
