A Tulsa woman, Brandi Kay Ragsdale, 37, has been charged with felony assault and battery on a medical care provider after authorities say she assaulted a nurse at McAlester Regional Emergency Room.

The incident occurred on April 3, 2026, when officers were called to McAlester Regional Emergency Room to respond to a disturbance. According to an affidavit, Ragsdale had arrived at the emergency room seeking assistance to enter a rehabilitation program.
However, when she was informed that she would need transportation to another facility, she became upset.
Ragsdale allegedly began causing a disturbance, refusing to leave her room, and had to be restrained by hospital staff. During this struggle, Ragsdale is accused of biting a nurse, escalating the situation further.
Aggressive Behavior and Threats
Despite being restrained, Ragsdale reportedly continued to act aggressively, including kicking her feet into the air while restrained. Investigators also state that she threatened the nurse and other hospital staff members during the incident.
