Man Accused of Killing Girlfriend
Police have arrested Christopher Charles Sanders, 53, in connection with the disappearance of Molly Richards, 31. He is now facing a murder charge, according to officials in Denton County.
The case dates back to October 2025, when Molly reportedly started living with Sanders in Little Elm.
Last Contact with Family
Molly’s father, Steven Richards, told police that he last heard from his daughter in November 2025. She had sent a message saying she and Sanders were planning to travel to South Dakota.
Later, on December 1, she sent another message claiming she was checking into a mental health facility due to bipolar disorder. After that, her father became increasingly worried as he could not reach her.
He even contacted Sanders asking about Molly’s whereabouts, but reportedly received no response.
False Story Raises Suspicion
Investigators say Sanders later told people that Molly had met another man in South Dakota and decided to stay with him. However, this story began to fall apart during the investigation.
Police checked motels and nearby locations in cities like Deadwood and Rapid City, but no one had seen Molly.
Clues from the Investigation
Authorities found Molly’s car in South Dakota. Inside the vehicle, they noticed a strong smell of cleaning chemicals, which raised serious concerns.
Further investigation revealed:
- Her phone signal was last detected near Denton, Texas, close to Sanders’ home
- Personal belongings, including her driver’s licence, were later found
- Witnesses said Sanders had asked someone to look after her car before leaving the state
Disturbing Evidence Found
When police searched Sanders’ properties, they reportedly discovered:
- Bedding with traces of blood
- A receipt for a 24-inch bow saw
- Multiple large buckets
These findings led investigators to believe that Molly may have been killed around November 25, 2025.
Arrest and Current Status
Sanders was arrested on March 16 and taken into custody. Despite the investigation, Molly Richards’ remains have not yet been found.
