What Happened in Kansas City
The incident took place in Kansas City, where 37-year-old Demario McGee has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend, 32-year-old Katrice Williams.
According to police, the shooting happened outside a house on East 62nd Street during the late hours of Sunday. Officers reached the spot after receiving reports of gunfire.
When they arrived, they found Williams lying in the backyard near a vehicle, suffering from serious gunshot injuries to her neck. Sadly, she was declared dead at the scene around 3:18 a.m.
Charges Against the Accused
Authorities have charged McGee with serious criminal offences, including:
- Second-degree murder
- Two counts of armed criminal action
- Two counts of unlawful use of a weapon
He is currently being held in custody with a high cash-only bond.

People present at the house shared important details with the police. They said:
- They were inside the basement when they heard gunshots
- After coming outside, they saw McGee walking away from the backyard
- He later returned and started behaving strangely
