An Irish YouTuber has been found guilty of murdering his pregnant girlfriend, Natalie McNally, after he set up a false livestream to use as his alibi. The tragic incident occurred in Lurgan, Northern Ireland, on December 18, 2022.
The Murder of Natalie McNally
Natalie McNally, 32, was fatally stabbed in her home. She suffered multiple injuries, including stab wounds to her neck, strangulation, and heavy blows to her head, as reported by The Guardian. Her boyfriend, Stephen McCullagh, has been convicted of her murder. The BBC reported that McCullagh was found guilty on March 23, 2026.
The False Livestream Alibi
Investigators uncovered that McCullagh had set up a pre-recorded livestream of a six-hour game of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Robot Wars. The stream was scheduled to play on the night of McNally’s death, and McCullagh used it as his alibi. McNally, unaware of the crime, had tuned in to watch the livestream while McCullagh traveled to her home and killed her.
The livestream initially misled investigators, as they believed it was live, but further investigation revealed it was a pre-recorded ruse.
McCullagh’s Arrest and Alibi
McCullagh was initially arrested and later released after presenting the false livestream as his alibi. Shockingly, he was allowed to spend time alone with McNally’s body, with her family comforting him in his grief.
Conviction and Life Sentence
After McCullagh was found guilty, the judge confirmed that he would receive a life sentence for the crime. The sentencing details are yet to be clarified, but the offense carries a life sentence under Northern Irish law.
