A 38-year-old Florida woman, Mandolyn Shaffer-Brockwell, is facing multiple charges after allegedly attacking a pregnant woman during a road rage incident, assaulting a senior citizen who tried to intervene, and then biting a police officer during her arrest.
Road Rage Incident
On February 23, in Orlando, Florida, Shaffer-Brockwell reportedly engaged in a violent road rage confrontation with a pregnant woman near Millenia Boulevard and Millenia Plaza Way. Surveillance footage released by police shows Shaffer-Brockwell exiting her SUV in the middle of the road, running toward the victim’s car, and jumping on its hood. She then opened the driver’s side door and began punching the victim repeatedly.
Shaffer-Brockwell reportedly yelled, “Honk at me again,” according to a police report obtained by WOFL Fox News. The pregnant woman, who also had a child in the car, said Shaffer-Brockwell had been brake-checking her before the assault took place.
Attack on Senior Citizen
Afterward, Shaffer-Brockwell allegedly attacked a 68-year-old woman who had attempted to intervene. The senior citizen was scratched in the face during the altercation. Shaffer-Brockwell then fled the scene, but officers quickly located her after receiving a description from the victims.
Resisting Arrest and Biting Officer
When officers attempted to arrest Shaffer-Brockwell, she allegedly resisted. Body camera footage showed the suspect pulling her arms away from the officer while demanding to know why she was being arrested. The officer explained that she was being arrested for battery, but Shaffer-Brockwell continued to resist.
Eventually, the officer pinned Shaffer-Brockwell to the ground, at which point she bit him. “Don’t bite me,” the officer was heard saying. Shaffer-Brockwell screamed, “Get the f— off me.”
Charges
Shaffer-Brockwell faces several charges, including burglary, aggravated battery on a pregnant person, battery on a person 65 or older, and resisting an officer with violence.
