Mandolyn Shaffer-Brockwell, 37, was arrested in Florida after allegedly assaulting two victims and a police officer during a road rage incident.

Incident Details and Arrest

On February 23, 2024, police responded to a report of a battery related to a driving dispute in Millenia Boulevard and Millenia Plaza Way, Orlando. Shaffer-Brockwell is accused of punching a pregnant woman in the face inside her vehicle and attacking an elderly woman during the confrontation. She is also alleged to have bitten a police officer during her arrest.

Video Evidence of the Assault

In a video released by the Orlando Police Department (OPD), Shaffer-Brockwell is seen jumping on the hood of a white SUV, opening the driver’s side door, and punching the woman inside. The video then shows her attacking a woman standing on the side of the road before she is arrested and bites a police officer’s arm while on the ground.

The OPD stated that a witness, the elderly victim, provided a description of Shaffer-Brockwell and her vehicle, leading to her quick apprehension by law enforcement officers.

The Alleged Road Rage Incident

According to the police report obtained by Fox 35 Orlando, the pregnant driver claimed that Shaffer-Brockwell was driving erratically, repeatedly stopping short in front of her. After honking her horn and attempting to change lanes to avoid Shaffer-Brockwell, the suspect reportedly cut across two lanes of traffic, got out of her vehicle, and confronted the driver. Shaffer-Brockwell allegedly yelled at the pregnant woman before jumping on her vehicle’s hood and punching her.

A 911 call made by the pregnant driver, who was 35 years old, confirmed the assault. She reported that her child was in the car at the time of the attack.

Attack on Elderly Bystander

A 68-year-old woman, who witnessed the incident, reportedly tried to help the pregnant woman. According to police, Shaffer-Brockwell told the elderly woman to get back in her car before allegedly scratching and hitting her face. The elderly woman sustained injuries during the altercation.

Charges and Arrest

Shaffer-Brockwell was arrested and charged with several offenses, including battery on a person aged 65 or older, burglary of a conveyance with assault and battery, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer with violence.

Video of Her Arrest

A video of Shaffer-Brockwell’s arrest shows her sitting on the ground as a police officer approaches. She responds by saying, “I plead the fifth” before getting up and shouting, “Tell me why! First tell me why!” As the officer tries to handcuff her, she allegedly bites his arm. The officer is heard telling her, “Don’t bite me!”
