Authorities in Jones are investigating after a body was discovered Tuesday evening in the North Canadian River.
According to the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, two men were fishing near the river around 5 p.m. when they saw a body floating downstream.
The fishermen immediately contacted authorities, and the Jones Police Department requested assistance from the sheriff’s office.
Officials said the Oklahoma City Fire Department Swift Water Rescue team responded to help recover the body from the river.
At this time, investigators have confirmed only that the victim was an adult. The identity of the person has not yet been released.
